Just above the city’s rhythm—but close enough to feel connected—this timeless traditional in Kings Heights includes the additional rare option of a buildable adjacent lot, offering a refined retreat with room to grow in one of Portland’s most coveted settings. An expansive deck stretches out toward sweeping views of the Cascade Range and glittering downtown skyline—complete with an outdoor kitchen with built-in grill, gas firepit, and retractable cover for year-round enjoyment.

The connection between indoors and out is seamless and intentional, designed for both quiet mornings and vibrant evenings.

Coming from South Africa, we love living outside and inside. We do a lot of cooking outside on the grill or in the wok while staying connected to what’s happening inside. When designing the entertainment area, we looked to make it easy to live and cook outside, regardless of the weather. Keeping out the rain when necessary and letting the sun shine in when possible.”

Inside, a fireplace anchors the living room, while the dining area flows effortlessly into a classic chef’s kitchen with marble counters, a porcelain farm sink, and stainless appliances.

The existing terraced garden area could be transformed into a stunning infinity pool oasis, creating a private retreat with elevated views. Just next door, an adjacent buildable lot expands the possibilities even further—ideal for adding a guest cottage with a future garage or pursuing a completely separate new build to complement the property.

With Forest Park trails, NW 23rd, Chapman Elementary, and downtown just moments away, this is elevated living—with the city always within reach.
