The perfect morning involves: A strongly brewed half-caf oat milk latte, warm morning light, and the back door opening for Pepper. All Classical Portland playing softly while I work through a crossword. Then waking up my kids for a slow, snuggly start to the day.

Three places I’ve never been that I’d love to visit: Japan for the food, nature, culture, and design; Cornwall, England to live out my romantic, moody British dreams; Réunion Island to visit extended family and explore volcanoes, waterfalls, and hikes.

A few of my favorite reads: The works of Jane Austen and Octavia Butler, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Sherlock Holmes series, and Still Life with Woodpecker.

Describe a favorite home ritual: I love decorating for the holidays. Any holiday. I love to host a big Thanksgiving dinner, birthday party, or Christmas party. I’m proud to live in a house that’s always full, especially on Halloween when our street comes alive. If there’s a holiday approaching, our home is getting dressed up for it.

Pet’s name, and one word to describe them: Pepper. Sweet (not spicy).

Guilty pleasure: A fully loaded everything bagel breakfast sandwich.

A fave outdoor spot, bar and restaurant in PDX: Breakfast at Broder with friends, date night at Yaowarat with my love, and a sunny day at the Oregon Zoo with my family.
